NOTES:
1: Ernest John's name was registered at birth as John Ernest but he seems to have always used Ernest as his first name and signed his name Ernest John Buckner on the marriage certificate.
2: I can not find a birth certificate for Laura Parker and obtained her date of birth from the 1901 Canadian Census. Her brother William was born in 1899 but his birth was not registered until 1919, so it may be that Laura's birth was never registered.
3: Ernest John and Laura were both underage when they married. Her father signed the certificate giving his permission for Laura to marry. Due to their ages, the fact that they got married in the Rectory rather than the church, and that the witnesses were Laura's mother and a member of the minister's family, I suspect that Laura was pregnant when they married.
4: The spelling of Laura's mother's maiden surname is a puzzle. I have seen it as Kevelin, Kivolin and Kivon in various records - which were poorly written and difficult to read.
5: I do not yet know how or why they came to be apart but Ernest John ended up remarried and living in Michigan by about 1921.
