FAMILY HISTORY: KNOTT
THE FAMILY OF GEORGE HENRY & CHARLOTTE GAUNTLETT
CENSUS INFORMATION:
Charlotte was still living with her widowed father, Richard Robert Stacey, at the time of the 1901 Census. She and George Henry Gauntlett married shortly after the date of the 1901 Census, and the first Census in which they appear as a family should have been in 1911 - however, Charlotte was not at home on the night of the Census and I found her as a patient in Hospital: |

2: | George Henry was a shipbuilding labourer at His Majesty's Royal Dockyard. |
3: | The entries for the birthplaces appear to have been amended at a later date, with "Hants" entered for the first three people, and "London" entered for the next two. Hants is the abbreviation for Hampshire. |
4: | Both Census schedules record that they had five children - all living, but there are only four children at home with George Henry on Census night. Their son Charles was born in late 1910 and is not listed at home or in the infirmary with his mother. I suspect that he was accidentally omitted from the Census. |
