PRESTON CEMETERY - PRESTON, LANCASHIRE, ENGLAND
EXPLANATORY NOTES and INFORMATION:
These burial records are taken from microfilmed copies of the original Burial Registers housed at the Lancashire Record Office in Preston, Lancashire. They cover the period from 21 July 1855 to 30 January 1987. More recent records are still housed at the Cemetery Office.

I have compiled a list of all persons called Swarbrick or Morton (either by birth or by marriage) buried in the cemetery and list them here in date order, plot order, and address order. I listed the information in three different ways after noticing that some members of the same family are buried in various parts of the cemetery. As an example, look at the listing for Salter Street in the Swarbrick RC Burials in Address Order section and you will see that there were five persons buried from number 12 - each in different graves.

The burials listed in date order contain the most information. I have added additional information for some individuals and will add further information as and when it becomes available. The added information is entered in brackets.

In the third category, "Others" , I have mainly listed individuals I know to have been members of my family (either by birth or by marriage), including various members of the Boocock, Hull, Shepherd, Weights and Battersby families. The list is by no means complete but I have added additional information in brackets where available.

Some abbreviations used are as follows:
RC = Roman Catholic
CE = Church of England
NC = Non-Conformist (Methodist, Baptist, etc.)
nk = Unknown
PRI = Preston Royal Infirmary
RPH = Royal Preston Hospital
