The Family of Henry and Sarah Hill: Burial Records

MONUMENT INSCRIPTION:

"...Also Henry Hill, son-in-law of the above,
who died Dec 27th 1914, aged 36 years
Also Sarah, beloved wife of the above Henry
who died March 29th 1969, aged 81 years..."

BURIAL RECORDS:

3) Henry Hill, age 36, farmhand, of 285 Plungington Road, Preston, buried 31 December 1914. His was the 3rd interment, buried 18 ft deep. Burial No. 71664 Grave M-197

6) Sarah Hill, age 81, of 285 Plungington Road, Preston, buried 8 April 1969. Hers was the 6th and apparently last burial, buried 6ft deep. Burial No. 118777 Grave M-197

NOTES:
1:	James Weights, of 14 Otway Street, Preston, purchased grave M-197 in the Church of England Section at Preston Cemetery on 5 March 1894. There are seven burials.
2:	Grave M-197 was apparently a public grave before being sold privately. If the burial register is correct, there were at least ten burials in this grave before James bought it. I can not see how they could have buried Earnest Weights 20ft deep if the grave already contained 10 burials unless those bodies were removed beforehand. Very strange indeed.
