The transcript of the Marriage Bond of John and Margery Morton, Continued: |
On the Eighth Day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy four The within-named John Morton of Claughton in the Parish of Garstang aged Twenty Eight Years and upwards appeared personally, and alledged that he intended to marry with Margery Ibison, spinster within named aged nineteen Years, and that he knoweth of no lawful Let or Impediment, by Reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity or any other Lawful Cause whatsoever to hinder the said intended Marriage, of the Truth of which he made Oath, and also that the usual Place of her abode hath been for four Weeks last past at Bonds in the Parish of Garstang in the County of Lancaster & archdeaconry of Richmond The same day & year appeared personally George Ibison & being sworn upon holy Evangelists made Oath that Robert Ibison lawful father of the said Margery Ibison a minor is consenting to her marriage with the abovesaid John Morton |
