THE FAMILY OF ROBERT CARTER
| Thomas Carter married Jennet Simpson on 19 October 1729 at St. Helen's Parish Church in Churchtown,
Garstang, Lancashire. Although apparently a Catholic couple, they had to marry in a Church of England church due to the law at
that time. Their son Robert was baptised on 19 September 1731 at SS Mary and Michael Roman Catholic Church in Bonds, Garstang, Lancashire. Robert was a widower when he married Dorothy Morton and had at least three children by his first wife. His Will makes mention of all of his living children by both marriages. |
