THE FAMILY OF HENRY HAYES

 

Henry Hayes the son of Thomas Hayes and Lydia Yates, who were married at Christ Church in Charnock Richard on 4 October 1863. Henry was baptized on 7 March 1875 at St Mary the Virgin in Eccleston. By the time of the 1881 Census Thomas and Lydia and their children were living with Thomas' recently widowed father Henry:

Henry's parents and grandparents are buried together at the Parish Church in Eccleston:
"In Loving Memory of
Henry Hayes of Eccleston,
died August 3rd 1881, aged 75 years.
Also Sarah, his wife,
who died April 18th 1850, aged 70 years.
Also Thomas Hayes, their son,
for 47 years Organist and Churchwarden of this Church
and for 42 years Overseer of this Parish,
died October 30th 1913, aged 71 years.
Also Lydia, wife of the above Thomas Hayes,
died March 16th 1916, aged 72 years.
Also Sarah Ann,
daughter of the above Thomas & Lydia,
died September 10th 1867, aged 7 months.
Also Henry, their son,
died March 12th 1872, aged 3 years.
Also Elizabeth, their daughter,
died March 20th 1944, aged 71 years"
