THE FAMILY OF EDITH HOUGHTON FORSHAW

 

Edith Houghton Forshaw was the daughter of Thomas Forshaw and Ann Elizabeth Ellen Houghton, who were married at St Michael & All Angels Church in Croston on 29 May 1888:

29 May 1888, Thomas Forshaw, 24, bachelor, butcher, of Croston, son of Thomas Forshaw, farmer (deceased) married Annie Elizabeth Ellen Houghton, 20, spinster, of Croston, daughter of Thomas Houghton, police sergeant, after Banns, by Henry H. Oliver, Vicar of Daisy Hill. The witnesses were Robert Baker & Margaret Ashcroft.

Edith was born on 17 April 1890 and baptized at the same church on 25 May 1890.

Thomas Forshaw died on 22 September 1935 and Ann Elizabeth Ellen Forshaw died on 12 November 1938. They are buried together at the Parish Church in Croston:
"In fond Affection of,
Thomas Forshaw,
who died September 22nd 1935,
aged 73 years.
Also, Annie E. E. Forshaw,
wife of above,
who died November 12th 1938,
aged 71 years"
