THE ASHCROFT FAMILY

 

Charles Ashcroft, husband of Ada Roocroft, and Alice Ashcroft, wife of Ada's brother James Roocroft, were the children of Thurston Ashcroft and Alice Halliwell, who were married at St Mary the Virgin Church in Eccleston, Lancashire on 20 December 1873.

Thurston and Alice had at least six children. Charles was baptized at the same church on 21 December 1884 and Alice was baptized there on 3 July 1887.

At the time of the 1881 Census Thurston, Alice, and their older children were living in Charnock Richard:

Thurston died in 1887, aged 35 years. He and Alice are buried in the churchyard at St Mary the Virgin Parish Church in Eccleston, but I have not yet found their grave or burial record.
