Robert's mother Ann Miller was born on 25 June 1814, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Miller. She was unmarried at the time of Robert's birth and never did marry. By the time of the 1881 Census she was living with her younger brother Thomas, who also never married. |

"In loving Memory of Ann Miller, who died October 11th 1883, aged 69 years. Thomas Miller, who died April 5th 1892, aged 68 years. Also Ellen Miller, who died September 3rd 1897, aged 87 years. Till the daybreaks." |
