FAMILY HISTORY: NORRIS

THE FAMILY OF MARY ANN TRAFFORD

Mary Ann Trafford was the daughter of Henry Trafford and Elizabeth "Betty" Bannister, who were married on 31 May 1841 at St Michael & All Angels Parish Church in Croston. Mary Ann was born on 13 October 1854 and baptized at the same church on 10 December 1854. The only other information I have about her family at this time comes from the 1881 Census:

NOTES:
1: Living at Drinkhouses, Croston, Lancashire. (RG11-4222, folio 68, page 9)
2: Henry's grandsons were the children of his daughter Mary Ann.
3: The above information is taken from the census returns on microfiche at the Lancashire Record Office.

The father or fathers of Mary Ann's illegitimate children may never be known. They appear to have been cared for and supported by her family until she married Thomas Norris and I can find no record of a Order of Filiation for any of the children.
