THE FAMILY OF JAMES IDDON
James Iddon was the son of David Iddon and Elizabeth Moorcroft, who were married at the Parish Church in Croston
on 5 December 1855. David Iddon was born in Croston on 3 October 1825. At the time of the 1861 Census he was the Innkeeper at the Wheat Sheaf Pub in Croston and a Hay Dealer: |

David Iddon died in Croston on 16 March 1871, aged just 46 years. At the time of the 1881 Census Elizabeth was running the family farm with her son and daughter-in-law: |

Elizabeth (Moorcroft) Iddon died on 26 July 1890 and was buried in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels
Church in Croston. She was not buried with her husband - who appears to have been buried in a single grave elsewhere in the churchyard. |
