Thomas Norris
Thomas Norris of Croston, Lancashire, Yeoman, wrote his Will on 22 September 1880 and appointed his sons, John Norris and Thomas Norris Executors and Trustees of his estate.

He directed that properties not belonging to him beneficially, such as property left to him for his use during his lifetime, were to be disposed of according to the equities affecting the same.

As for his real and personal estate "My trust property", he directed that, with the exception of property noted below, the estate was to be converted to money, his debts, funeral and testamentary expenses paid.

His two cottages with gardens, etc., on Grape Lane, Croston, then being occupied by John Almond and William Monk, were to be held in trust for his son Thomas, his heirs and assigns absolutely.

The rest and residue of his estate was to be divided into 3 equal shares, with one share each in trust for his sons Thomas and John. The third share was to be invested and the interest income paid to his daughter Ellen Hough, for her sole use, during her lifetime, then to her child or children upon reaching the age of 21 years, or if female, marrying under the age of 21 years.

Thomas signed the Will, which was witnessed by William Banks and Edward Banks, Solicitors at Preston.

The Will was proved at Lancaster on 19 November 1895 to John Norris and Thomas Norris, farmers.
