THE FAMILY OF AMELIA ELLEN GREEN
John Green, age 25, bachelor, shuttle maker, of Friargate, son of the late James Green, shuttle maker, and Sarah Harley, age 23, spinster,
weaver, of Cold Bath Street, the daughter of the late Robert Harley, were married at St John's Parish Church, Preston on 25 January 1845, after Banns, by E Walker, Curate.
The witnesses were John Hitchen & Mary Harley. Sarah's surname was spelled Harling in the register but that of her sister Mary was spelled correctly as Harley. Everyone but the Curate signed the register their marks. |

John and Sarah Green had a least six children, the youngest of whom was their daughter Amelia Ellen, who was baptized on 23 April 1858 at St John's Parish Church by John Shaw. |

About 8 months after his wife's death, John Green remarried. He married Margaret Grime on 5 May 1875 at St John's Parish Church in Preston. |
