FAMILY HISTORY: SWARBRICK

THE FAMILY OF JOSEPH WELLS

Joseph Wells was the son of William Wells and Ellen Lund, who were married in All Hallows Parish Church in Mitton, Lancashire on 22 November 1829. William was described as being of the Parish of Mitton and Ellen was of the Parish of Ribchester.

William and Ellen had at least 11 children between 1829 and 1852, with Joseph being their youngest. He was baptized at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Billington:

Name: Joseph Wells
Born: 19 March 1852 Baptized: 21 March 1852
Church: St. Mary's Catholic Chapel
Location: Billington, Lancashire, England
Sponsors: Richard Cartmell and Elizabeth Craven
Priest: Thomas Cooper

The entry in the church register does not record Joseph's mother's maiden name but her name was entered in the baptism entries for some of his siblings baptized at the same church.
