I have been unable to find Eliza in the 1871 or 1881 Census and suspected that this is due to the many variations in the spelling of their surname. However, I recently discovered that George Corston died in November 1865 and Eliza was remarried in June 1870 to a man called Patrick Hayes, The following may be the family in 1881: |
1881 CENSUS OF ST GEORGE IN THE EAST, TOWER HAMLETS, LONDON, ENGLAND: | ||||||

I believe that Patrick Hayes died toward the end of 1890, but there is some evidence that he and Eliza separated before then. When her son Albert married in April of 1890 Eliza signed the register "Eliza Corston" and in the 1891 Census, Eliza is listed as Eliza Corston: |
