NOTES:
1: Until very recently, John Carroll was a bit of a mystery as I wasn't able to find any positive record of him after the 1880 Census. However, a recent DNA match to my aunt provided the clues needed to track him down and confirm that he was the right John Carroll.
2: I've not been able to find the record of John Carroll's marriage to Margaret Stiffey and have based the approximate year of marriage on the birth of their first child.
