FAMILY HISTORY: BOOCOCK

THE FAMILY OF FRANCIS J. & LOUISE M. JORDAN

FURTHER INFORMATION:

Francis and Louise Jordan had three children:
Harold J. Jordan:
All that I know about their eldest child Harold comes from the obituary of Francis Jordan and from U.S. Social Security records found on the internet. He was born on 15 May 1925 in Pawtucket and died on 9 May 1999 in New York.
Mildred Louise Jordan:
The information I have on their daughter Mildred Louise comes from a news clipping given to me by my late cousin Elsie (Swarbrick) Banks. Unfortunately it is a small clipping which does not show the name of the paper or the date of publication.

"Mildred L. Jordan
Sacred Heart Bride

Miss Mildred Louise Jordan became the bride of Paul Emile Robichaud at an 8 o'clock ceremony in Scared Heart Church Saturday morning. Rev. John Toohey conducted the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial mass.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Jordan of 87 Bates street and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Grace Robichaud Asselin of 15 Colvin street.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of ivory satin with seeded pearl bodice, sweetheart neckline and long, pointed sleeves. Her fingertip veil was held by a crown of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white roses with stephanotis streamers.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Sybil Jordan, as maid of honor. She was gowned in pale blue marquisette, a matching sweetheart hat and carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses.
Eugene Godin, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.
A reception was held at the Lafayette Club, where the mothers of the bride and bridegroom assisted in receiving. The bride's mother wore a dress of black and white printed jersey, harmonizing accessories and a corsage of red roses. The dress of the bridegroom's mother was of black and white crepe. She had black accessories and a corsage of red roses.
Following a wedding trip to New York and Atlantic City, N.J., Mr. and Mrs. Robichaud will reside at 375 Benefit Street."

The Wedding of Mildred Louise Jordan
L to R: Francis and Louise Jordan, Paul and Mildred Robichaud, Sybil Jordan, and Eugene Godin.

Sybil I. Jordan: c
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any further information on Sybil except that she married a man called Drury. I have the photo of her shown above, when she was her sister's Maid of Honour, and the photo shown below:

Sybil Jordan with her family
Sybil with her father Francis, her Aunt & Uncle Thomas and Marion, and her cousin Mary Ellen.

I suspect that this photo, dated October 1951, was taken on the occasion of the baptism of Tom and Marion's daughter Mary Ellen Jordan.

NOTE:
1: All of the above information comes from photos and news clippings given to me by my late cousin Elsie (Swarbrick) Banks. They were sent to her by her cousin Agnes (Jordan) Campbell.
