THE FAMILY OF JAMES THOMAS HODGKINSON

 

James Thomas Hodgkinson was baptized on 24 March 1872 at St Paul's Parish Church in Preston, the eldest son of John Wm Hodgkinson and Ann Jane Shepherd, who were married at St. John's Parish Church in Preston on 27 April 1871. At the time of his birth, his father was a warehouseman and the family were living at 17 Alfred Street.

By the night of the 1891 Census, the family had grown with the addition of 4 more children and had, judging by the birthplaces of some of those children, had moved around before finally settling back in Preston:

Ann Jane (Shepherd) Hodgkin son died in Preston in 1904, aged 53 years. Two years later John William was remarried to Annie Bradley at St Mark's Parish Church in Preston. Due to their respective ages, they had no children together.

Annie (Bradley) Hodgkinson died in Preston in 1921, aged 64 years, and John William Hodgkinson died in Preston on 26 February 1929, aged 78 years.
