MONUMENT INSCRIPTION:

"In loving Memory of,
Hugh Norris, the Son of Edward & Jane Whittle,
who died 30th October 1884, aged 2 years.
Also James Henry, their Son,
who died 16th May 1885, aged 1 years.
Also GNR Leo Whittle R.F.A.,
Son of above, died of wounds on Active Service in France,
died 28th September 1918, aged 26 years,
interred at Grenvilliers Cemetery.
Also, Harry, their Son,
who died 7th September 1924, aged 34 years.
Also the above Edward Whittle,
who died 21st December 1925, aged 69 years.
Also, Jane, the beloved Wife,
who died 11th February 1926, aged 68 years."

No. 1946: Buried 24 December 1925, Edward Whittle, of 26 Town Road, Croston, age 69 years,

No. 1950: Buried 15 February 1926, Jane Whittle, of Town Road, Croston, age 68 years,
by A. G. Whalley, Rector.
