MONUMENT INSCRIPTIONS:
"Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord,
In affectionate remembrance of
Ellen, daughter of William and Jane Chadwick, of Croston,
who departed this life July 2nd 1872, aged 9 years.
Also the above named Jane Chadwick,
who died October 3rd 1906, aged 74 years.
Also Mary, the beloved wife of Hugh Chadwick,
Oak Leigh, Ormskirk,
who died October 4th 1928, aged 60 years.
Also Hugh William Chadwick,
who died December 27th 1935, aged 71 years."

No. 2055: Henry Chadwick of Croston, aged 18 months, buried 15 September 1862 by T. Chamberlain, Officiating Minister.
No. 2241: William Chadwick of Croston, aged 37 years, buried 18 February 1866 by Oswald Master, Curate.
No. 102: Ellen Chadwick of Croston, aged 9 years, buried 5 July 1872 by Oswald Master, Rector.
No. 1416: Jane Chadwick of Croston, aged 74 years, buried 9 October 1906 by H. Wild, Curate.

 

NOTES:
1: Jane's husband William and their two infant children Hugh and Henry are buried in a separate unmarked grave elsewhere in the churchyard.
2: The above information is taken from the headstone and from Burial Registers for St Michael and All Angel's Church held at the Lancashire Record Office.
