NOTES:
1: Thomas Battersby was wounded in battle during World War One and was brought back to England, where he died. After his death, Florence and her 5 sons emigrated to Australia, where they lived for the rest of their lives. Florence married Mr W.G. Silverlock of Wallerawang and they had one daughter.
2: Rolland James was apparently always known as James Roland but was baptized as Rolland James.
3: The above information is taken from the original marriage register for St Ignatius' Catholic Church, the original baptism register for St Joseph's Catholic Church, and microfilmed copies of burial records for Preston Cemetery - held at the Lancashire Archives in Preston.
