FAMILY HISTORY: SWARBRICK

THE FAMILY OF LEONARD BOAK

Leonard Boak was the son of William Wilson Boak and Elizabeth Graham, who were married near Kendal in Cumbria in 1900.

Soon after marrying they moved to Warton, near Lancaster, Lancashire - where their first child, Robert Wilson Boak, was born later that year. He was baptized at St Oswald's Church in Warton on 5 August 1900.

Almost exactly four years later, Leonard, their second child, was baptized at the same church. He was baptized on 7 August 1904 by J.K. Floyer. The baptism register records that Leonard's father was an Analytical Chemist, and that their abode was Warton.
