MONUMENT INSCRIPTION:

"Of your charity, Pray for the soul of Thomas Swarbrick,
Builder of Preston, who died July 15th 1859, aged 49 years...

Also for Sarah Swarbrick, widow of the above,
who died April 9th, 1875, aged 67 years...

Also Mary Ann, daughter of the above,
died Jan. 23rd, 1855, aged 10 years, and was interred at St. Augustine's, Preston...

Also for William, son of the above Thomas and Sarah Swarbrick,
who died Dec. 24th, 1881, aged 35 years..."

DEATH NOTICES:

"On Tuesday last, Mary Ann, daughter of Mr. Thomas Swarbrick, builder, of this town, in the 10th year of her age."

BURIAL RECORDS:

Robert Swarbrick, aged 22 months, of Arthur Street, Preston, was buried on 8 March 1840 in St Wilfrid's Catholic Cemetery, Preston.

Mary Ann Swarbrick, aged 10 years, was buried in the churchyard at St Augustine's Catholic Church, Preston.

Thomas Swarbrick, aged 49 years, was buried on 17 July 1859. At the time of his death, his Executors purchased a large family grave in a Catholic section of Preston Cemetery, grave C 272, and Thomas' was the first of seven burials.

Mrs Sarah Swarbrick, aged 67 years, was buried on 13 April 1875. Hers was the 4th burial in the family grave, C 272, at Preston Cemetery.

William Ignatius Swarbrick, aged 35 years, was buried on 28 December 1881. His was the 6th burial in the family grave, C 272, at Preston Cemetery.

NOTES:
1:	St Wilfrid's Catholic Cemetery is now a public car park
2:	It is believed that all known graves at St Augustine's Church were removed and re-buried at Preston Cemetery.
3:	The other members of the family buried in grave C 272 are their eldest son Richard, his wife Jane, and two of their children. Details of those burials will be included on Richard's burial page.
