FAMILY HISTORY: SWARBRICK
THE LIFE OF GEORGE SWARBRICK
LEGAL NOTICES: (continued)
We have to assume that George's former employees, who had decided to carry on his plastering business, were unable to buy the business premises, as about a month later they announced that they were relocating: |
"REMOVAL. - WHITE AND HAYES (successors to the late George Swarbrick), Plasterers, dealers in all kinds of Cement, Plaster Paris, Laths,
Nails, Hair, &c., 2, Fleet-street, Lune-street, Preston, beg to inform their friends and the public generally that, in consequence of their premises in Chapel-yard having
been sold, they have REMOVED to the Warehouse, Fleet-street, lately in the occupation of Mr. Crabtree, where they intend carrying on the plastering business in all its
branches. W. and H. take this opportunity of thanking their friends for the continuance of that liberal support which they had for so many years given to their late employer." |

Almost a year after his death, George's brother published a final notice for the settling of George's business affairs: |
"NOTICES" |
"GEORGE SWARBRICK, DECEASED, - All persons having any claims against the estate of the late George Swarbrick, plasterer, are requested
to send particulars of the same to White and Hayes's Office, 2, Fleet-street, and, if found correct, will be discharged forthwith. And all persons that stand indebted to the late George Swarbrick are requested to pay their accounts immediately to John Hayes, at the above office, otherwise proceedings will be taken against them for the recovery of the same without further notice.
