NOTES:
Not all church registers recorded all of the same information and some didn't record the names of the officiating priests.
The original Catholic chapel at Garstang may not have been known as St Mary & St Michael's. This name was given to the new church built in 1857. Similarly, the chapel in Great Eccleston was called St Lawrence's before the larger church was built and rededicated in 1832.
The baptism registers did not record the dates of birth but used Latin expressions such as "pridie natum" (born the day before) and "eodem die natum" (born the same day).
The above information is taken from the original baptism records for the respective churches, held at the Lancashire Archives.
