THE MARRIAGES OF WILLIAM MESSIAH GREENFIELD:

FIRST MARRIAGE:

 

William Greenfield had been married and had four grown sons when he married Marie (Madden) Lineman. It is believed that his first wife left him when the boys left high school and they eventually divorced, leaving William free to remarry. The following are the details I have so far about his first marriage and his eldest four sons:

As mentioned above, it is believed that Myrtle left William when their youngest son left high school (c. 1939) and they eventually divorced. William married Marie (Madden) Lineman in about 1940. For the details of that marriage see 'The Marriages of Marie Madden'.

Myrtle (Simpson) Greenfield never remarried and used the surname Greenfield for the rest of her life.

1: I have not yet found the marriage record for William and Myrtle and cannot find Myrtle in any census prior to her marrying William in about 1911.
