NOTES:
1: According to his death certificate, James Whitford Madden was born in Indiana County (Pa?) but the census records that he was born in Ohio. There is an Indiana County in Pennsylvania and an Ohio County in Indiana - but no Indiana County in Ohio.
2: The spelling of Jane Hergenrother's surname varies from one record to another and I have seen it spelled Hergenroether, Harganrather, Harkenrider, and Harkenride. It is spelled as Hergenrother on her death certificate.
3: The surname of Jane's mother is taken from Jane's death certificate.
