NOTES: | |
 | The writing in the register was hard to decipher but looked like James lived at SS Sophocles. The Late Elsie (Swarbrick) Banks told me James and a brother were raised in an orphanage. |
 | Thomas Joseph was born with Down's Syndrome and was never expected to live long. |
 | At the time of the wedding, Thomas Kell was living at 98 Deepdale Road in Preston and Matilda (Maud) was living at 26 Moor Hall Street, Preston. |
 | Tom Kell and Maud Boocock were engaged when Maud died. |
 | Elsie (Swarbrick) Banks also told me that her late husband Jack Banks was the nephew of Beattie's husband James. She and Jack met at her cousin Beattie's house and spoiled Beattie's plans. It seems that Beattie wanted to introduce her nephew to another girl but Elsie saw him first! |
 | The bike shown in the above photo was a Royal Enfield motorbike first registered on 1 February 1930. The last registered owner was J. Saunders of 7 Bells Yard, Ulverston on 10 July 1937. |
