FAMILY HISTORY: BOOCOCK

THE FAMILY OF AGNES JORDAN

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:

The following appeared in a local California newspaper on 20 January 1979:
A party for Agnes

Editor, News-Press: She was sitting in the Recreation Center waiting for a program when I first saw Agnes, a "new-England" type of person. . . "Are you going on our walk club?" I asked. She joined right in, not only in walk club, but singing group, travelog, and "you name it" in Recreation Center. So it was with great joy I was chosen to go to her surprise 80th birthday and see how she was received by friends from far and near.
I saw so many Easterners praising our city it made me feel happy to be a Californian. In these days of turmoil to see love extended over "10 times 10" with a quilt of many squares attesting to friends from all over nation and pen pals in England, I felt happy to know Agnes and her fine sons and their wives, the Campbells, who put on this wonderful get-together for Agnes Lantayne (sic). A salute to Agnes.

Agnes' 80th Birthday.

Left to Right: Annette Campbell (wife of Stephen), Agnes Campbell-Lantagne, Stephen Campbell, & Jeanette Campbell (wife of Thomas). They are standing in front of the quilt mentioned in the above article. Agnes' daughters-in-law sent squares to many of her friends and family to be embroidered. Then all the squares were joined together to make the quilt. My late cousin Elsie (Swarbrick) Banks made one of the squares and was thrilled to get this photo of the completed quilt in the post.
