NOTES:
1: The naming of the father on an illegitimate child's baptism record is very unusual but without it we would never have been able to determine who Richard's father was.
2: I have searched the various churches in and around Clitheroe and Hurst Green but have not yet found the baptism records for all of children.
3: The birthdate for Eunice Robinson is taken from the International Genealogical Index (IGI).
4: As a rule, early Church of England baptism registers did not record the child's date of birth, but some clergy entered the birth dates in as additional information.
5: Church of England and Methodist baptism registers did not normally record the names of Godparents.
6: The above baptism records were taken from microfilmed copies of the Bishop's Transcripts for the respective churches, held by the Lancashire Archives.
