Joseph Weights:

Joseph Weights of Preston, Lancashire, Gentleman, died on 11 April 1901. Probate Lancaster 23 April to Robert Weights, gold thread manufactory manager, Richard weights, public accountant, and James Weights, bookkeeper. Effects £1039 10s.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me, Joseph Weights, of Preston in the county of Lancaster, Gentleman. I direct payment of all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and subject thereto I give and bequeath all my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and I devise my real estate (if any) to my Executors hereinafter named Upon trust to sell and convert into money such part thereof as shall not consist of money and after payment of all expenses attending to the same Upon trust to stand possessed of the clear proceeds thereof and such part of my said personal estate as shall consist of money Upon trust to pay and divide the whole equally amongst my five children, namely Robert Weights, Richard Weights, Samuel Weights, James Weights and William Weights share and share alike. I appoint my said sons Robert Weights, Richard Weights and James Weights Executors of this my Will and I give them and each of them such powers of giving receipts including reasonable remuneration for trouble and loss of time as are usual in Wills.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and ninety five. (signed) Joseph Weights
