1: Legend has it that James Maddock Henderson was a man of "dubious character" and Elizabeth, although listed as married, is not living with her husband in the 1891, 1901 or 1911 Census returns.
2: The Will of Elizabeth Ellen Henderson describes her as the wife of, rather than the widow of, James Henderson but there is no other mention of him in her Will.
