MONUMENT INSCRIPTIONS:

"Sacred to the memory of Rbt. C. Norris,
who departed this life August 11th 1813, aged 69 years.
Also of John Norris, of Mill House End, Croston,
who died January 12th 1830, aged 63 years.
Also of Jane Norris, wife of the above,
who departed this life February 11th, 1843, aged 78 years.
Also John, son of the above John Norris,
who departed this life January 7th 1850, aged 43 years.
Also John, the beloved son of James and Margaret Norris,
who departed this life September 19th 1853, aged 5 years.
Likewise, the above mentioned James Norris, Saddler, of Croston,
who departed this life December 5th 1857, aged 37 years.
Also in memory of Hugh Norris, Mill House End,
and son of the above named John Norris,
who departed this life October 23rd 1868, aged 74 years."

DEATH NOTICE:

"On Wednesday last, at Croston, aged 77, Mrs. Jane Norris, widow of the late Mr. John Norris."

No. 42:	Died 23 Jun, Buried 25 Jun 1805, Nanny Rigby (sic) of Croston, widow, age 29, cause of death: Decline. Buried on the north side of the north aisle inside the church.

No. 65:	Robert Caunce Norris of Croston, Buried 16 August 1813, aged 68 years, by G. Parkin, Curate

No. 867:	Jane Norris of Croston, aged 77 years, Buried 19 February 1843, by Robert William King, Curate.

NOTES:
1:	Robert Caunce Norris was the first to be buried in the Norris family vault, which contains the remains of at least seven members of the Norris family.
2:	The burial place of Ellen Norris, who died in November 1776, is unknown. She may have been buried with her family, the Millers of Ulnes Walton, near Croston.
3:	The above information is taken from the headstone and from the Burial Records of St Michael and All Angel's Church held on microfiche at the Lancashire Record Office.
