2:	By the date of the 1841 Census Jane Norris had been widowed three times. Robert Caunce Norris was her second husband and after his death she married his cousin John Norris, who died in 1830.
3:	James Norris was the illegitimate son of Margaret, daughter of John Norris and his first wife Ellen. Margaret had two illegitimate sons before becoming Mrs. George Swarbrick.
