cause of death: fever. Buried on the south side of the middle isle.

There appears to have been at least one Norris family vault under the floor of the church that contains several members of the family. While some of the early burial records don't state where the person is buried, several that do state that the burial was "about the centre of the centre isle".

I believe that Thomas Norris the elder, who died in 1852, was the last member of the family to be buried in the vault.

This photo shows the centre isle at about the point where the vault may be. If there is any marking on the floor to show the exact position of the vault it is covered by carpeting and pews.

According to the Vicar of the church, it was usually the wealthy and prominent members of the community that were buried beneath the floor but those burials had to be stopped when they realized that the burials were undermining the foundations of the church and causing the church tower to lean noticeably.
