FAMILY HISTORY: NORRIS

THE FAMILY OF HUGH & ANN NORRIS

INFORMATION FROM WILLS:

Hugh Norris
Hugh Norris, husbandman, of Croston, appointed William Miller, of Croston; and his nephew Robert Caunce Norris, of Croston, as the executors and trustees of his estate.

He left a legacy of £4.00 (about £300 in today's money) per year, in two equal installments, to his wife Nanny (Ann) Norris for the rest of her natural life.

The residue of his estate was to be divided equally between his two sons, Thomas and John Norris.

The Will was signed and sealed by Hugh Norris on 24 April 1776 and witnessed by John Crouchley, Richard Stasicker, and William Bailey.

Hugh Norris, husbandman, of Croston, was buried four days later on 28 April 1776.
Ann Norris
I can find no record of Ann Norris having left a Will. It is possible that she had no real or personal estate in her own right.
