| 1: | The name of the Godmother for George was listed only as Ma. This may have been short for Mary, Margaret, or something else. |
| 2: | I searched for many years (on and off) for the baptism records for the last 5 children with no luck. Recently I was checking some information for someone else and stumbled upon the baptism of Robert in the original baptism register for SS Peter & Paul in Mawdesley. The baptisms of their other children were not in the Mawdesley register so my search for them continues. The family had moved from the Garstang area to Croston, Lancashire but the village had no Catholic church at that time. The birth dates are taken from George Swarbrick's prayer book, now in the possession of Mrs. Christine Ackers, and Robert's baptism entry confirmed his birth date. |
