FAMILY HISTORY: SWARBRICK
THE FAMILY OF WILLIAM AND MARY SWARBRICK
INFORMATION FROM WILLS:
If William or Mary left a will I have been unable to find any record of it. It is possible
that they made private arrangements with their children. William had been a successful corn miller for many years and lived a comfortable life. However, by the time of his death in 1846 his financial situation may have changed and perhaps he didn't feel the need to make a will. Mary, who died before her husband, may not have had much in the way of a personal estate and whatever she did have would probably have been considered her husband's property. Not politically correct in the 21st century but common in the 1840's. |
