I had a very hard time finding John Buckner in the 1911 Census and when I finally found him I realized why. One problem was that the Ancestry website had
mis-transcribed his surname as "Bulmer" but the strangest thing is that he is listed as William George instead of John! Charlotte "Lottie" Jennings, his estranged wife's younger sister is listed as his wife - even though it would be another 37 years before they married. I am at a loss to explain these errors and can only guess that the person who provided the information to the Census Enumerator got his or her facts wrong. |
