NOTES:
1: The marriage register entry does not record the name of the church but records the religion of both the bride and groom as Episcopalian. Rev Wilson was a Methodist minister and there were churches in Toronto at the time that were known as Episcopalian Methodist.
2: John and Susan were both underage when they married and would have had to have their parents' permission. Unless their first child was quite premature - Susan was pregnant when they married.
3: John and Susan split up in about 1905 but I suspect that they never actually divorced. It was a fairly nasty parting of the ways and was reported in the Toronto newspapers. See 'The Separation'.
4: John Buckner spent the next 43 years as a single man before marrying his "housekeeper" - who happened to be his former wife's younger sister.

NOTES:
1: When John wrote his Will in 1948 he was described as a widower, which leads me to believe that he was never divorced from Susan and that she died sometime before that date. John married Charlotte three weeks after making his Will (see Probate Records).
2: Other than the date, I have not found any information on the marriage of John & Charlotte.
