NOTES:
1: Joseph Albert Burgess and Harriet Rebecca Knott may have been living together before they were married. The birth of their first known child was more than four years before they married, but the baptism entries records them as if they were a married couple.
2: Well Yard and Peter's Court seem to have been linked addresses and it may be that Joseph and Harriet were living together at the time of their marriage.
3: The witness, Sarah Ann Knott, may have been Harriet's stepmother, Sarah Ann (Harrison) Knott.
4: Joseph Albert Burgess died in late 1870 or early 1871. His death was registered in the 1st quarter of 1871 and Harriet was a widow on 2 April 1871 - the night of the 1871 Census.
5: Harriet Rachel Burgess was alive, aged 10 months, on the night of the 1871 Census but died shortly after. Her death was registered in 2nd quarter of that year.
6: About a year after her first husband's death, Harriet Rebecca married Samuel Widgery Buckner.
