REMEMBERING ELSIE (SWARBRICK) BANKS:

PAGE SEVEN

I'm not sure how many times Elsie and Jack visited Betws-y-Coed but Elsie never forgot the place and spoke often of her trips there.

She told me once about the time they were riding through the Mersey Tunnel from Liverpool to Birkenhead on their way to Wales when Jack hit a patch of oil and they crashed. The Mersey Tunnel is not the best place to have an accident, but they were unhurt and able to make it back through to Liverpool - shaken but not stirred - where they spent the night while the scooter was repaired.
Elsie and Jack made many friends on their travels, including a very wealthy couple who were so fond of Elsie that they remembered her in the Will!
