NOTES: | |
 | The parishes of St Pancras and St Giles in the Fields are both in central London and both parishes had workhouses. It is possible that the first two children were born in these workhouses and this is why they were baptized later and on the same day. |
 | The first known child born to John and his second wife Mary Louise was stillborn and was not baptized. |
 | There may have been other children born to John Maltman by each of his wives but I have not yet found any other birth or baptism records. |
 | Sarah and George (1) may have been baptized in a Church of England church due to the family being inmates in the workhouse. The family were apparently Wesleyan Methodists. |
 | The date of birth for George (1) was not recorded in the baptism register and is taken from a copy of his birth certificate. |
 | The above information is taken from scanned images of the original baptism and burial records on-line at www.ancestry.co.uk and www.findmypast.co.uk. |
