NOTES:
John and Mary Ann's son George died in Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire in 1838 but I have not yet found his place of burial.
The burial register for Mary Ann Maltman gives her age as 6 years. John and Mary Ann's daughter would have been 8, but this could have been a simple mistake.
The burial of Mary Ann (Edwards) Maltman must have been a re-burial from another graveyard as her husband remarried 3 years before the date of this burial.
The first 5 burials listed above were in public graves and there were no headstones or grave markers. John Maltman purchased a private family grave on 29 October 1877 upon the death of his daughter Rebecca.
There are two other people, a father and son, buried in the Maltman family plot but I have no idea who they are or how they are related to the family.
The above information and grave plan are taken from the original burial records for the Toronto burial grounds held at the Toronto Trust Cemeteries Office, and from scanned images of the burial registers for the London churches available at www.ancestry.co.uk. The sketch of the headstone was made during a visit to the grave when I didn't have a camera with me.
