The Blackburn Family Grave in Preston Cemetery "...Also of Ellen Swarbrick, sister of the above,
died Feb'y 14th 1948, aged 70 years."


[Although George Leo is not listed on the headstone, he and Ellen are
buried together. This plot, in the C. of E. section of Preston Cemetery
(Section BB plot 312), was purchased by Thomas Blackburn Sr. upon
the death of his son Thomas Jr. George Leo's son Leslie, a stone mason,
was supposed to add his father's name to the headstone but never did]

 

DEATH NOTICES:
"Swarbrick - on the 14th inst., at 49 Leyland Road, Penwortham, Ellen, the dearly loved wife of Leo Swarbrick, aged 70 years, and dear mother of Elsie and Leslie and son-in-law Jack. R.I.P. Interment Preston Cemetery, Wednesday, February 18th, three o'clock."

"Swarbrick - Of your charity, pray for the soul of George Leo, the beloved husband of the late Ellen Swarbrick, and dear father of Elsie and Leslie, and father-in-law of Jack and Dorothy, who died fortified with the rites of the Holy Church, on August 21st at 49 Leyland Road, Penwortham. Requiem Mass, St. Mary Magdalene's church, Monday 9 a.m., Interment Preston Cemetery.

BURIAL RECORDS:
Horace Swarbrick is buried in a public grave in the Roman Catholic section of Preston Cemetery, G-674, on
1 April 1907, aged 10 months. Their address was 20 Moor Hall Street, Preston. Register No. 43427.
Cyril Swarbrick died in Tacoma, Washington, U.S.A. and was buried in a local cemetery.
Ellen Swarbrick was buried in the Church of England section of Preston Cemetery, section BB plot 312, with her parents and other members of her family.
George Leo Swarbrick was buried with his wife in the Blackburn family grave. He is not listed on the headstone.
Leslie Swarbrick is buried at Penwortham Cemetery.
Helen "Elsie" (Swarbrick) Banks was buried with her late beloved husband Jack in the churchyard of St. Mary's Parish Church, Penwortham, on 12 January 2004.
