(Harry and Maude Stuchbury are buried together in an unmarked private grave in the Church of England section of Preston Cemetery.)

 

DEATH NOTICES:
 
"Stuchbury - On February 16th at 134, St. Stephen's Road, Preston, Maud, the beloved wife of Harry Stuchbury. R.I.P. Requiem Mass, St. Gregory's church, Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - Inquires, E. Swindlehurst and sons, 127 Manchester Road. Tel 4752."

BURIAL RECORDS:
 
Maude Stuchbury, age 65, of 134 St Stephen's Road, Preston, was buried on 19 February 1948 in the C of E section of Preston New Cemetery, HH-1229. Hers was the first burial in a private grave.
 
Harry Stuchbury, age 73, of 46 Ramsden Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, was buried on 14 November 1955 in the C of E section of Preston New Cemetery, HH-1229. His was the second and last burial in a private grave.

 

NOTES:
1: Maude's name was often spelled without the 'e' in various records but she herself spelled it 'Maude'.
2: Although Harry died at Huddersfield, His body was brought back to Preston to be buried.
3: The above information is taken from microfilmed copies of the Preston Cemetery burial registers held at the Lancashire Archives and from microfilmed copies of Preston newspapers held at the Harris Reference Library in Preston.
